AGNES MOBILE SCOTT HAIRSTON

AGNES MOBILE SCOTT HAIRSTON of Martinsville, VA died May 6, 2014 at the age of 88. She was a licensed Virginia and North Carolina funeral director, embalmer, former owner and chairman emeritus of Hairston Funeral Home. She graduated from the John Tyler Community College, where she served as program head for mortuary science for four years. She was president of both the Virginia Morticians Association and the Western District Funeral Directors Association; member of the boards of directors of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association and the Virginia Morticians Association; and co-chairman of the education commission of those two associations.
