AGNES MAGDALENE FIERSCHNALLER GOULD

AGNES MAGDALENE FIERSCHNALLER GOULD of Hopewell, PA died October 16, 2012 at the age of 93. In 1950, she purchased Shanko Funeral Home alongside her husband, Raymond A. Gould, renaming it Shanko-Gould Funeral Home, before establishing the name as Gould Funeral Home. In the mid 1960s, they bought Wells Funeral Home in Petersburg, which was renamed as Gould-Wells Funeral Home before becoming Gould Funeral Home. She ran the firms as a licensed embalmer and funeral director for 10 years after her husband died in 1982. She retired at the age of 74, and sold her business to Nelson Funeral Homes in 2001. She graduated from John Tyler Community College in 1971.
